Inspired by the exquisite blue pea flowers, this 2.5-hour culinary and craft workshop is centered on appreciating the butterfly pea plant.
Helmed by artist Carlyn Law and educator Janna Hussain, this unique workshop will take participants back to the days of the kampong where you get to harvest a variety of blue pea flowers, lemongrass and pandan leaf from the home garden of these two neighbours who bonded over the blue pea.
In this workshop we will be learning how to carve and print our own blue pea flower stamps to make beautiful prints on cards.
A cooking demo by Janna will feature two traditional dishes – Nasi lemak and Kuih dadar – with a blue pea twist. You will get to taste their freshly made kuih dadar and the nasi lemak with basic condiments like sambal, ikan bilis and egg.
Participants will bring home blue pea seeds, the flowers, 1 stamp, 1 ink pad, and 2 cards.
